Jonathan Levine’s Warm Bodies is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated movies of early 2013. The writer/director has earned his cred between The Wackness and 50/50, plus the 2011 novel by Isaac Marion being adapted has its own fans. In addition, though, the movie just looks interesting. How many zombie romantic comedies have you seen? The film, starring Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) as R and Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) as Julie is described as such on the official website:
After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human – setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.
Between the trailer and the first four minutes of footage, we seem to have a pretty good idea of what the film looks like, but Summit Entertainment has also released eight new images to show off a bit more of R and Julie’s courtship. Warm Bodies opens Feb. 1.
