Sorry, Internet: Twin Peaks Isn’t Returning For a Third Season

Bad news, Twin Peaks fans: Despite a rumor started on New Year’s Day by an anonymous 4chan commenter, there is no Twin Peaks revival being planned by co-creator Mark Frost and NBC.

“Dear Internet: You are very good at spreading rumors. Truth is more valuable and much harder to come by. Sincerely yours, @mfrost11,” Frost tweeted on Jan. 2.

As if that wasn’t enough, The Daily Beast’s Jace Lacob has been talking with Frost about the rumor, and he also says there’s no truth to it. “Just to clarify: per his email to me, there have been no conversations between Mark Frost and NBC re: Twin Peaks. NONE,” he tweeted.

However, as /Film points out, Frost did recently tease to Sci-Fi Now that a third season of Twin Peaks is something that has been repeatedly discussed.

“[A third season is] something we talk about from time to time … If we ever do decide to move forward, I know we have a rich trove to draw from,” he said. Just don’t expect it to happen any time soon.
