Confirmed: Geoff Johns Is the New President of DC Entertainment
Comic Books, Film, TV
We might have to wait until 2014 for the third season of Sherlock, but fortunately Benedict Cumberbatch will be returning to television much sooner than that. HBO has picked up his U.K. miniseries Parade’s End, and has announced that it will air parts 1 and 2 Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The next three installments will air the following two nights.
A short teaser has surfaced to tie in to the announcement. Parade’s End premiered in the U.K. last fall to positive reviews. Considering the excitement surrounding the return of Downtown Abbey and the general love affair with Cumberbatch right now, our guess is this premiere will be met with plenty of excitement.
Directed by Susanna White and written by Tom Stoppard and Ford Madox Ford, Parade’s End also stars Rebecca Hall, Adelaide Clemens, Rupert Everett, Roger Allam, Miranda Richardson and Janet McTeer. It tells the story of a love triangle between Cumberbatch’s Christopher, his cheating wife Sylvia (Hall) and another woman named Valentine (Clemens) set during World War I.
