Simmer Dean: Community Goes to the Hunger Deans in New Promo

Community might has new showrunners this season, but it hasn’t lost its signature charm.

A new promo for the upcoming fourth season teases an epic new trial for the attendees of Greendale Community College: The Hunger Deans. Yes, Dean Pelton has put together a Hunger Games-style competition for his students, and over nothing more serious than who gets admitted to Greendale’s History of Ice Cream class. May the odds be ever in their favor?

Joel McHale revealed to Entertainment Weekly last year that The Hunger Deans would involve an “elaborate tango” between his character Jeff Winger and Dean Pelton. “He will repulse and arouse you all at once,” McHale said. “Mostly repulse.”

Returning Feb. 7 on NBC, Community‘s fourth season will consist of just 13 episodes. It remains to be seen if Community is picked up for a fifth season — or is anywhere as good as it was when Dan Harmon was at the helm. Well, at least we have Tricia Helfer and Malcolm McDowell to look forward to.

The Hunger Games  seems a bit current or the Community I know and love, makes me wonder if the new show runners are missing the point entirely.

    Fingers crossed folks.

“It’s not a meteor; it’s a cookie wand. Me and Jeff made it because it made you look more like the Cookie Crisp wizard, which is not even a reference I get because the Cookie Crisp mascot when I was growing up wasn’t a wizard. It was a burglar.”
