SDCC: "Batman: The Killing Joke" Cast & Crew Debuts Film at Comic-Con International
Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla is really starting to take shape, despite its producer problems and a new script in the works from former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) are in talks to join Gareth Edwards’ giant-monster epic. They would play star Aaron Johnson‘s stepfather and girlfriend, respectively.
While details about the new Darabont script are few and far between, he did reveal the Legendary Pictures release will explore some “very compelling human drama.”
“It’s not that cliched, thinly disguised romance or bromance, or whatever,” he teased. “It’s different, it’s a different set of circumstances than you’re used to seeing. And that’s tremendously exciting as a writer when you’re asked to do something else.”
The movie is expected to start shooting in March with an eye toward the intended May 16, 2014 release date.
