Arrow Debuts Extended Trailer, Promotes Emily Bett Rickards

The CW has released an extended midseason trailer for Arrow that teases what be can expect more from the next nine episodes — namely, more island-backstory intrigue, a schism between Laurel Lance and her detective father, a red hoodie-wearing Roy Harper, and The Hood’s big confrontation with Moira Queen.

And following the drama’s second-season renewal earlier this week, ETonline reports Emily Bett Rickards has been promoted to a series regular as Felicity Smoak, the Queen Consolidated information-technology employee whose field of expertise apparently knows no limits. Following the events of tonight’s episode, “The Odyssey,” we can probably expect Felicity to move from Oliver’s suspicious admirer/mostly unwitting accomplice to full-blown ally of The Hood.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

It’s not that I think this show is awful or anything, but I would like it so much better if it didn’t feel like a self-hating superhero show to me.

I don’t know what you mean, I get a lot of self-love from watching Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland and Emily Bett Rickards.
