Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
ABC’s has already found two more leads for its high-concept gothic soap opera, appropriately titled Gothica.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Egan (Kings) will play Dorian Gray while Tom Ellis (EastEnders) will portray Victor Frankenstein in the pilot penned by The Sorcerer’s Apprentice screenwriter Matt Lopez. They join Raza Jaffrey (Smash), who was announced earlier this week as Harker, a police detective whose search for the truth is threatened by political pressure exerted by the most powerful man in the city.
The pilot is described as a sexy present-day gothic soap that incorporates elements from Victorian literature, including classic public domain figures like Dracula, Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, and Dorian Gray.
Egan’s Dorian Gray is described as an enigmatic playboy who develops a relationship with Grace Van Helsing, and attempts to help her discover who killed her family. Ellis’ Victor Frankenstein is a brilliant doctor who’s trying to find a way to bring his daughter back to life.
