First Look at New Costume From The Amazing Spider-Man Sequel

amazing spider-man 2 Spider-Man’s never looked so good! After several appearances on stage and screens both big and small, it looks like Sony and The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb have finally nailed the look of the Web-Head in live-action. has revealed the first peek at the new costume from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which Webb teased a few weeks ago with a close-up of the larger eye holes. In addition to the larger eyes, there were some texture and design elements altered seemingly to look more like the icon’s comic-book outfit, right down to the chest logo.

Here’s the official plot synopsis as reported earlier this month:

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Paul Giamatti (Sideways, Rock of Ages), Colm Feore (Thor, The Borgias) and Felicity Jones (Chalet Girl, Breathe In) have also joined the cast. While their official roles have not yet been mentioned, rumor has it that they will play The Rhino, Norman Osborn and Felicia Hardy a.k.a. Black Cat. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

So its the tobey maguire suit with bigger eyes?

  • Chris P. Bacon

This movie ought to be called The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Also, not Felicity Jones aka Black Cat, Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat ;)

They couldn’t find a way to keep the indented black webbing texture from the first one? That technically made it look more like the comic book outfit. The metal looks goofy and impractical. Always has. I like the eyes though.

Pretty sure they got duped with a mock up- there is no way Webb would just slap on new eyes to the old Raimi costume- and that is exactly, down to the brick pattern what this is-

They spent time making the eyes look better, but Garfield is going to be in the suit with the mask off just as muh as, if not more than, the mask will be on.

Felicity Jones is playing Felicity Jones? Weird

This is clearly just that site’s photoshopping of the old suit with the new eyes.  New eyes look amazing though.

Upon closer examination of the spider, you seem to be correct.

This is so obviously a photoshop job:

    1. It’s the EXACT same chain-mail looking red webbing on the suit, under the webbing.
    2. The webbing is the EXACT same block webbing from Raimi’s movies.
    3. The spider logo is the EXACT same spider logo from the Raimi movies. It DOES NOT mirror any spider logo from the comic books. If anything the spider logo from TASM is more accurate as it was drawn. No artist would take the time to make the spider logo that detailed in the books.
    4. The eye logo is the exact same size and angle as the “preview” that Webb tweeted out. If this was an “official image”, why wouldn’t they take the time to provide a different view of it?

    This is beyond ridiculous.

Not bad… When I first heard that they wanted a more traditional look, I thought it sounded terrible.

     hear hear. My sentiments exactly

Teenager Peter Parker creates a costume that looks straight out of Hollywood. Yeah, right!

  • Hrodi007

No, if it should be called anything else than The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it will likely be The Ultimate Spider-Man, because the costume closely relates to the costume in the Ultimate comics, not the spectacular.
