Alden Ehrenreich Cast as the Young Han Solo for the 2018 "Star Wars" Anthology Film
With The Office‘s finale slated for May 16 on NBC, the BBC The Office will soon be returning. That’s right, Ricky Gervais is resurrecting the BBC show that inspired the American take on the documentary-style sitcom to help raise money for charity.
In a trailer titled “Brent’s Back,” Gervais dons the guise of his The Office character David Brent and detailed what the character has been up to since the series went off the air in 2003. According to him, Brent’s enjoyed a successful career in the music industry.
“What’s happened in the last 10 years? Pssht, what hasn’t happened in the last 10 years,” he says in the video. “Probably the best 10 years of my life, filled with just so many interesting things — mainly rapping. I mean, I’m not okay with that cash cow because that helps me finance my other passions: my music.”
It turns out Brent is a music manager now, because he can “literally pass on musical wisdom.” An example? A political reggae song called “Equality Street.” Goodness, but we can’t wait for this.
The epic return will take place on Red Nose Day — aka March 15 — on BBC One, and also air on Gervais’ YouTube channel. Hopefully more characters than just Brent return as well, as we’re dying to find out what happened to Martin Freeman’s Tim Canterbury, Mackenzie Crook’s Gareth Keenan and Lucy Davis’ Dawn Tinsley in the past decade.
