"Power Rangers" Steps Into The Modern Era With First Look At Movie Suits
Universal Pictures is shuffling the releases of two of its comic-book adaptations, and giving a 3D conversion to another.
Deadline reports RED director Robert Schwentke’s R.I.P.D., based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, will be getting the 3D treatment. That means you’ll be able to check out Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as undead cops tracking down evil spirits in the three best dimensions. It opens July 19.
Meanwhile, the studio is shifting Baltasar Kormákur’s 2 Guns, based on the BOOM! Studios crime comic, is from Aug. 16 to Aug. 2; it stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. At the same time, the Jeff Wadlow-directed Kick-Ass 2, featuring characters created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., is vacating the June 28 date to take 2 Guns‘ original Aug. 16 spot.
