"Justice League": Exploring How Superman Returns (Again)
Comic Books, Film
We have to wait until the end of the month to see the first trailer for The Wolverine, but in the meantime director James Mangold has revealed black-and-white photos of three of the stars he took on the last day of production.
Of course, that’s Hugh Jackman above. But below you can see Tao Okamoto, who plays Wolverine’s love interest Mariko, and Rila Fukushima, who portrays Yukio, the freewheeling ronin and thief.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
Opening July 26, The Wolverine also stars Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi and Brian Tee.
