Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Shawn Ryan and Eddie Murphy’s CBS pilot Beverly Hills Cop is one of the more anticipated television projects of this year’s crop, both because of the caliber of creators and the show’s continuation of the hit film series. While the movies focused on Axel Foley (Murphy), a Detroit cop making his way to California, the show follows the adventures of his son Aaron (Brandon T. Jackson) as he tries step out from his charismatic father’s shadow in the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Ryan tweeted several images, including ones of Jackson and on-screen dad Murphy, various scenes being shot and Murphy’s iconic Detroit Lions jacket as part of the wardrobe.
Murphy and franchise co-star Judge Reinhold will appear as guest stars throughout the series while Jackson will be joined by fellow regulars Christine Lahti (Chicago Hope), Kevin Pollack (The Usual Suspects), David Denman (The Office) and Sheila Vand (Argo).
