Teen Titans Go! Debuts First Promo

Cartoon Network has released the first promo spot for Teen Titans Go!, which premieres April 23 as part of the cable channel’s DC Nation programming block.

Announced in June, Teen Titans Go! feature the all-new comedic adventures of Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg, who have been appearing  in chibi form in a series of well-received shorts airing on DC Nation. Like those “New Teen Titans” shorts, the show will employ a super-deformed style and feature the voices of original cast members Scott Menville, Hynden Walch, Khary Payton, Greg Cipes and Tara Strong.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice ended their runs on Saturday. Beware the Batman will join Teen Titans Go! in the programming block sometime this summer. DC Nation airs Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Featuring the return of Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg in all-new, comedic adventures, Teen Titans Go! will premiere in April 2013. Character-driven comedy is the order of the day as this new take on the superhero series focuses on the funny business that happens between saving the world and living together as teenagers without adult supervision. The series stars the principal voice cast from the original Teen Titans, and is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

They cancelled Young Justice for this Chibi Titans crap?

  • Boomtube

    Sad isn’t it…

  • Mr.Manhattan

    yep. yep they did.

  • Fer

awful, I will miss Young Justice

  • batGRRRl4ever

I can’t believe there is an audience for this. Or maybe this is another one of those instances where those in charge are WAY off the mark in what they hope will appeal to we the audience.

    this is bullshit..

  • http://profiles.google.com/maskedmanissue1 Masked Man Issue 1

Shame on you, Cartoon Network. This is just sad and deplorable.

  • http://www.facebook.com/diarra.harris.3 Diarra Harris

    Yep

  • http://twitter.com/stevencarver_ Steven A. Carver

I mean, if Cartoon Network really hates me, sure, replace YJ with this.

  • ziza9

I enjoyed the ending to GL. I’m annoyed as hell that it had to end to make way for this crap.

  • Shomy

Aaaaah, the shitty show… Where is Young Justice? Wtf is up with these guys?! People want YJ and GLTAS back, it’s obvious if you check twitter and facebook on anything related to Cartoon Network. Instead they are keeping this shit…

  • spyridus

This is absolutely pathetic! Unbelievable that they canceled a perfectly good show like Young Justice for this pre-school mind-rotting crap. For years, I thought it would be amazing if they did a more mature Teen Titans show, something darker. The Teen Titans comics were always my fave but this cartoon is ridiculous!!

  • jcm

This is garbage! Why would they cancel Young Justice for this!? Clearly they dont care what the fans want over at CN.

  • king kirby lives

This makes no sense like any story line from the new 52. These people have no clue they had 2 good hits but no lets have another teen titans and batman smgdh. Make mine marvel…..

  • Paul Moses

    Screw Cartoon Network’s programming division.

Buy Young Justice and GL: TAS on dvd or whatever so they know people want it back. Slim hope but it worked for Futurama and Firefly.

  • Raduckal Muzik

I would love to see the list of people who actually wanted this compared to the list who didn’t want YJ canceled…

  • http://www.facebook.com/tjmac510 Travis McCollum

I wonder how many people realize that Teen Titans Go was in development long before they cancelled Young Justice and GL:TAS. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m not too thrilled with this new show and I probably won’t watch it, but ultimately it’s Cartoon Network that decided to cancel those two shows and bring these two shows on. Think about it this way, would you be complaining about this show if YJ and GL:TAS were still on? If they had expanded DC Nation to two hours instead of one?

I just hate that people keep saying “THIS replaced Young Justice” or things to that extent. For all we know it could have replaced GL:TAS and Beware the Batman replaced Young Justice. I just don’t get all the hate.

  • batGRRRl4ever

I was indifferent to YJ getting cancelled, my dislike for this show is purely based on it’s own rather crap-infested looking merits.

  • Peter Gonzalez

    CHEAP GARBAGE

  • Keith

    Looks fun to me.

  • http://twitter.com/jheintz58 John

Ugh. Young Justice was an amazing show and they cancelled it for this nonsense. This is just the absolute worst. Way to keep up failing WB/DC.

  • Jay

I loved the original Teen Titan series and I’m glad to see them reprise their roles. I’ve enjoyed the Teen Titans shorts so far so I’m really looking forward to this series. I’m glad for this series, because in a way it is the last remnants of the Wolfman and Perez Teen Titans. With those out of continuity in the new 52, I would like to keep the memory alive for as long as possible.

  • Malcolm

Great to see that we have given up on quality animation nowadays.

  • Shlibberdibber

I hope Beware the Batman doesn’t end up as god-awful as this crap…………

  • thesnappysneezer

crap, if it was a continuation of the old Teen Titans or a more serios take on New Teen Titans then hurray but this. For shame, for shame…

  • drexel rivers

im sorry cartoon network but i cant support this crap. the fact you could cancel a great cartoon like young justice for this is beyond stupidity….

  • Berrto

Young justice aka The Superbore & Blue Beetle show sucked. And in the final episode they killed off the most interesting character! I look foward to Teen Titans Go.

  • BOLANVELL

at the end of the day cartoon network is for little kids so i get that teen titans may appeal to them more and young justice might have flown over their heads. still hope i see a new young justice episode in my future though

  • Masschine

After Saturday’s finale of Young Justice I practically screamed in rage over the cancellation of YJ for this drivel.

  • Oasis

Sad truth its about making money, YJ was not making money, most likely that’s what happen. reason why ben 10 still on, the toys and so on they sell.

i am happy to see TT voice actor team back, but yes this animation is a new take but its for newer gen of kids. so i am sorry people, same here. were not their age group anymore. they want new kids ,,they want the money they can make off them.

  • Pietro Maximoff

so…this 30 seconds teaser is more funny than a year and half of the New 52′s Teen Titan books…

  • Silverbolt2

Ugh. I had hope for this show, but this crap animation has completely turned me off. Two incredible shows died so THIS could come on the air?

  • Convoy

    What drug are you?

  • Convoy

You know why YJ and GL were canceled? Go to Target, Walmart or Toys R Us. Go to the boys section and you will see a wall of Marvel stuff, and then you’ll like a few DC related toys. Go to the clothing section and you’ll see plenty of other merchendise all Marvel related. The DC stuff just isn’t selling. Shows like Adventure Time are cheaply made, and it’s selling merchendise. I’m sure that CN is hoping that Teen Titans Go will be the same.
On another note, if you want a really real reason why YJ and GL were canceled. Again, look at Marvel. How many successful movies have they had. There is no better commercial than Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man. The Avengers was a mega hit. The Spider-Man movies were successful. There’s no better advertising than a successful movie. If DC could get a successful movie off the ground, other than Batman and Superman, I’m sure YJ and GL would still be on the air.

  • Toph

*sigh*…. It’s obvious that Cartoon Network is going for a younger audience (just look at Ben 10 –they de-aged him to back to a little kid).

It’s pretty sad. Hopefully CN will get a spin-off channel like Disney did with Disney XD (for older kids & more … intelligent entertainment). Of course, I won’t be holding my breath that this will happen anytime soon.

  • http://www.facebook.com/keithclardy Keith Clardy

I honestly don’t care. As a diehard fan of “Young Justice” who also came to love “Green Lantern TAS,” I will not be tuning in to the DC Nation again unless it’s to welcome “YJ” and GLTAS” back. I know that both this and “Beware the Batman” were in development long before the cancellation of both series, but I didn’t have the desire to watch them when they were first announced and now I certainly will never tune in. Goodbye to the DC Nation as I knew and loved it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/keithclardy Keith Clardy

Honestly, yes, I would still be complaining. I mean, we have had how many animated series starring Batman over the last twenty years? Do we really need another? Why not a well-written series starring Wonder Woman or one of the countless other DC heroes that have never before been the star of a series? And personally, based upon what I’ve seen, I think “Teen Titans Go” is going to fail as a series. The shorts are amusing, but I can’t imagine them being drawn out into 22 minute long episodes. If you wanted a good comedy series, why not give Plastic Man his own show again?

  • http://www.facebook.com/keithclardy Keith Clardy

Then why isn’t “Teen Titans Go” merchandise already on shelves? If CN and WB planned on this being a big seller, then they should have had toys and other merchandise already on shelves before the show even premiered to drum up interest amongst kids. But there’s nothing. In my opinion, the fault of that lies with Mattel.

  • http://www.facebook.com/keithclardy Keith Clardy

Actually, statistically, the majority of CN’s viewership is teens and young adults. And that doesn’t include the Adult Swim block.

  • Convoy

Well no. This is CN and we know they’re ass backwards. I also should have added this because there is another part to it. This also isn’t about just YJ, GL or Teen Titans merchendise. It’s about the advertisers. In the 80′s, Punky Brewster was a ratings bomb. The reason why NBC renewed it for 3 seasons though is because little kids like me ate it up. You know who likes kids eating things up? Advertisers. The show might not be a hit, but if it’s something that keeps little kids in front of the TV set, then advertisers can sell stuff to them, and will be more willing to pay more money for commercial time slots. That advertiser money is more money in the pocket for CN.

  • http://www.facebook.com/david.schmitt#!/ David R. Schmitt

Y’know, I used to be proud to watch WB/DC cartoons. Up until the one minute it took me to see this trailer.

  • boomer

Will not be watching this crap.

  • http://www.facebook.com/david.schmitt#!/ David R. Schmitt

It doesn’t matter that it was in development before, YJ and GL was still cancelled and replaced in its timeslot for this. And yeah, a lot would be complaining that ANOTHER Batman show is on. Especially considering the Superman movie is right around the corner. Why not a Superman family show instead (as in one starring Superman, Superboy, Supergirl and Krypto)? Or if you have to use Batman then add all of The Outsiders.

Teen Titans Go! looks like a PowerPuff Girls rip-off.

  • http://www.facebook.com/diarra.harris.3 Diarra Harris

Superman isn’t as popular as Batman.

  • jDog

Wow I can’t believe they cancelled Young Justice for this and “Beware the Batman”…. I’m honestly speachless

  • jDog

    They wouldn’t do anything…

  • Angelina

Why do all new cartoons have to look like for little babies… This happend to Ben Ten and now they do it with Teen Titans too?! I loved young justice because it had the “classic” cartoon look. The same with Spiderman… Why do they have to change everything? Why do cartoons have to be produced to sell stuff?! Why not produce them to view them just like in the past?! I get so angry when I this aaaa! I´m 24 and I was watching tv shows like this since I was a little kid!

  • Anberg

I was thrilled to know Teen Titans would come back. This isn’t Teen Titans…

  • CartoonNetworkNerd

Stupid Cartoon Network cancelled Young Justice can’t you just make a series that is awesome or just return the real teen titains back then. If you want to save young justice go on YouTube and search 7 steps to save Young Justice. And You better watch Young Justice while its still on you have until April 27.

  • CartoonNetworkNerd

  • Jacob

i agree i HATE YJ ITS A PIECE OF CRAP> I DONT CARE IF ITS CHIBI I WANT MY FUKIN TEEN TITANS BACKI

  • http://twitter.com/Permafry_42 Permafry_42

Don’t hate on Power Puff Girls; That show is a million times better than this mockery of the epicness that used to be teen titans GO…

  • Eric

I hate fun things too. >:(

  • Megan

You know, I actually liked the original Ben 10, little kid and all, a whole lot better than when he was a teenager. I tried to keep up with when he was a teenager, but I couldn’t do it. They turned him back into a kid in the fourth series?

  • ImRockLee

I feal with all the original voices if they just had the origanal art on the regular teen titans I would love it this is a mockery of teen titans and that’s a shame because I always wanted teen titans back it was way better than any other show on Cartoon Network exept Naruto which is the best show ever.
