NBC’s The Sixth Gun Casts Elena Satine as Missy Hume

elena satineThe Carlton Cuse-produced NBC pilot The Sixth Gun has rounded out its central cast with the addition of Elena Satine, Deadline reports.

Based on the Oni Press comic by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt, the supernatural Western centers around six pistols of otherworldly power. The most dangerous of the weapons, the Sixth Gun of the title, vanishes, only to resurface in the hands of an innocent girl named Becky Montcrief, reawakening dark forces.

Satine, who played Mera on Smallville, portrays Missy Hume, a powerful madame kept youthful by the power of the Fifth Gun who’s determined to possess the other pistols. She joins a cast that includes Laura Ramsey (The Ruins) as Becky, Michiel Huisman (Treme) as the mysterious gunslinger Drake Sinclair, W. Earl Brown (Deadwood) as Oliander Hume, the foul-mouthed undead Confederate General; Graham McTavish (The Hobbit) as Silas Hedgepeth, the General’s loyal lieutenant; and Aldis Hodge (Leverage) as Mr. Mercer, a detective hired to find the missing guns.

The Sixth Gun pilot will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner (Wonder Woman, Friday Night Lights) from a script by Ryan Condal. Eric Gitter and Andy Borne of Closed on Mondays, the sister company of Oni Press, are executive producing.

I was hoping she’d be the choice for the new Mary Jane, but I guess we’ll never get a really smoking hot MJ in a movie. Until the next reboot, at least. Still, I’m glad she has a chance to get back on TV. Will watch this show just for her.
