The Undead Rise in New Trailer and Poster For World War Z

Although it had its fair share of problems, the adaptation of Max Brooks’ novel World War Z by director Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) is ready for the big screen. We haven’t seen much about the film since the big Super Bowl ad, but now you can get a glimpse at a new trailer (above) as well as a poster (below).

Surprisingly, the poster doesn’t feature superstar Brad Pitt, who plays Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee trying to figure out what’s going on with the recent zombie outbreak. Instead, Paramount Pictures went the more thematic route, showing a swarm of the undead attacking a helicopter. Between the trailer and the poster, it looks like vehicles fair no better when the undead rise than the humans.

I read and I love the book, I actually grew up in Yonkers NY (if you read the book you’ll know why that is relevant) but the movie looks hilariously different. I don’t think its a bad thing. In the books current state I feel like it would have been un-filmable outside of a mockumentary fashion. I’m still super excited for this movie.
