"Justice League": Exploring How Superman Returns (Again)
Film, Comic Books
It’s Kick-Asss time to shine! Hit-Girl and The Motherfucker have both already gotten their own posters for the upcoming Kick-Ass 2, but now it’s the title character’s time to get the spotlight. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the lead character in the Universal Pictures sequel, and now he has his own close-up image.
The sequel to 2010’s violent action comedy is based on the Hit-Girl miniseries as well as the second Kick-Ass mini written by Mark Millar and drawn by John Romita Jr. The new film finds the hero teaming up with his pal Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) and the new local hero team Justice Forever, led by Colonel Stars and Stipes (Jim Carrey). At the same time the one-time Red Mist, now known as The Motherfucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), is taking the same approach to bad guys.
Director Jeff Wadlow stepped in to take over for Matthew Vaughn, who directed the first installment. The film also stars Yancy Butler, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Lindy Booth, Andy Nyman, Morris Chestnut and Robert Emms. Kick-Ass 2 opens Aug. 16.
