How Lee & Kirby's "Fantastic Four" Birthed the Marvel Universe, Part 1
Jessica Chastain is the latest in a long line of exciting actors to join Guillermo del Toro’s new gothic horror movie Crimson Peak. She is joining the already-announced Emma Stone, Charlie Hunnam and Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming film.
Though each actor’s role has yet to be revealed, The Hollywood Reporter does have a short synopsis for the movie: “The gothic horror story centers on a woman who discovers that her husband might not be who he appears to be.” Crimson Peak had previously been defined as a “ghost story” by del Toro.
This will be the first time del Toro works with Stone and Cumberbatch. Hunnam is the lead in del Toro’s next film, Pacific Rim, though Crimson Peak sounds like a decided change of pace from that movie. Chastain recently starred in the del Toro-produced horror movie Mama. Crimson Peak is slated to start filming in February 2014, THR reports.
Del Toro and Matthew Robbins wrote the script for Crimson Peak, though Lucinda Coxon recently came on to do a rewrite. During a recent interview, del Toro said he is going to work on Crimson Peak before he tackles a Pacific Rim sequel. Crimson Peak doesn’t have a prospective release date yet.
