Cap, Black Widow Meet S.H.I.E.L.D. on Set of Captain America 2

The Daily Mail has posted behind-the-scenes set photos from Captain America: The Winter Soldier that reveal a better look at Chris Evans as Captain America and Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow, hinting at a possible antagonistic relationship between the duo and S.H.I.E.L.D. The photos follow a low-res first glimpse at Cap and Black Widow in costume earlier this month.

The images show Johansson, Evans and Maximiliano Hernandez, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jasper Sitwell in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, engaged in a discussion and possible physical altercation, with one photo showing Black Widow kicking Agent Sitwell in the stomach. Hernandez was confirmed to have a role in the Captain America sequel when principal photography began for the film. Hernandez previously portrayed Agent Sitwell in Thor and The Avengers, and had a large role in the Marvel One-Shot “Item 47,” which appeared on the Avengers Blu-ray.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the sequel also stars Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), Frank Grillo (Crossbones) and Robert Redford. Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4, 2014.

    Black Widow’s hair… Discuss…

  • Huskie

I have high hopes for this movie. The first one was very meh but I really loved Brubakers Winter Soldier storyline and I think Marvel/Disney heard this was the weakest of Phase 1 and is looking to fix that.

  • Andrew

I don’t like her hair that way.

  • Michael

big hair improvement for black widow!

  • fearitself

Hair is pretty off-puting. Definitely don’t like it.

  • fearitself

and that S.H.I.E.L.D agent looks sooo retarded with that smile on his face on the last pic.

  • tom w huxley

The hair doesn’t suit her. Pity because she looked great in the other two films.

  • Tony “Stark” Rodriguez

That’s a really bad wig. On both of them.

  • movieartman

STOP CHANGING HER HAIR, it was best BY FAR in ironman 2

  • Lead Sharp

Latest! Black Widow hair splits the internet in two.

  • Jim Allcorn

PLEASE, quit the nonsense about her hairstyle. For Pete’s sake it’s still SJ in the role. She could be sporting Moondragon’s look & STILL be ridiculously hot & dangerous looking. Agreed?

  • Hypestyles

Widow’s hair should definitely be a lot longer, and fluffy!

  • Scott Davies

agreed man, in a real time hairstyles change like crazy this last year i went from long hair, to spikey hair to short hair, and seen as these films are made like every 2-3 years characters have every right to change theyre hair

  • Zane

    Hair? What hair?
Looks like a stunt double in the first pic.

  • Steven Simmons

Weakest of phase 1 was Iron Man 2. Captain America was not bad at all.

  • Steven Simmons

and Black Widow changes her hairstyle ALL the time in the comics. People be trippin!

  • Celos Beats

people aways have to point out the negative. SMH. Can’t wait for this movie.

  • RobZ

Don’t like Black Widow’s hair, should’ve kept her Avengers style

  • Josh

I feel most of the hair comments are from girls. At least I hope. if you’re a guy and you are complaining about Scarlett johansson then I say shame on you. Her hair could very well change through out the movie….girls do actually do that. She’s sexy like always

  • SprechenSieDouche

what are you talking about? that looks like shit.

  • SprechenSieDouche

looks horrible. flat, dull. absolutely unglamorous or sexy. took a beautiful woman and made her look like absolute garbage.

  • Null

Actually, Cap was a pretty terrible movie by an reasonably critical standard. Excusing the first 30-40 minutes of the film, which were very good and captured the character, time frame, and the magic of Joe Johnston’s previous work, the entire second half of the movie was a hodgepodge of unfinished ideas with incompetent execution. The howling commandos for example, have plenty of screen time but not a single one of them is actually named in the film, much less given any kind of characterization. Bucky’s death is given absolutely no weight without a scene showing Cap actually reacting to it and its followed by a hard cut to Tommy Lee Jones eating a steak. Speaking of whom, he generally phoned in his entire performance and made light of it in comments on the character and the film. Hugo Weaving was so unimpressed and generally dissatisfied with the film that he opted not to come back. After Steve became Cap that film fell apart. Maybe when you make a declarative statement you should pair it with a well thought out argument and some relevant evidence.

Good thing you have the word “douche” in your name. It saves people the time calling you that.

  • Ren

Captain America The First Avenger was my second favorite Marvel film after The Avengers

  • Tenabrus

Have you guys even seen what Black Widow looks like in the comics?

  • Alex

Did you just present your “opinion” as “evidence”? Because I have to say – the two are not interchangeable terms. You can’t present evidence for thinking that a film is good or bad – you can only like it or dislike it. Sure, you can evaluate technicalities and measure impact, but in the end – everybody is entitled to their own opinion. And opinion is not fact.

  • Name Here

Evans really captures Steve’s look for me, and Steve’s Personality. I am really looking forward to this movie (even if they are doing the Winter Soldier story arc, which I am not really a fan of…)

  • Pico

I kinda like Black Widow’s hair, it makes her somewhat badass, menacing and have that ‘You don’t wanna mess with me but I sure as hell wanna mess with you’ attitude. Sure its flat, unstylish whatever bla bla, but I have expectations for her to have more of them awesome moves, not her cleavage, hairstyle, bigger butt bla bla. I want Black Widow the ‘Avenger’, not Black Widow ‘Marvel’s Next Top Model’.

  • Andi

Wtf is up with Black Widow’s hair? *cries*

  • Troy

Given her outfit she is wearing I kind of think this is a younger her. And like others have said women change their hairstyle all the time. It wouldn’t surprise me if it changes again in the movie.

  • Joan

She’s a spy, of course she changes her hair in every movie. She has to be adaptable, like in the comics.
