Wolverine’s Back in New Set Photo From X-Men: Days of Future Past

jackman-xmenDirector Bryan Singer continues his series of glimpses behind the scenes of X-Men: Days of Future Past with a first look at Hugh Jackman on the Montreal set of the Fox sequel. Sure, it’s only his back, but, hey, “First Look!” Right?

Frankly, I’m more interested in what that hulking mass of metal is in the background. It’s probably something mundane, but it certainly looks cool.

The photo arrives just a week after the director posted a video from the film’s set seemingly confirming that The Intouchables star Omar Sy will play Bishop while The Twilight Saga actor Booboo Stewart will appear as Warpath. They’ll appear alongside Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Adan Canto.

Opening July 18, 2014, Days of Future Past takes its name from the classic 1981 Marvel comics story by Chris Claremont and John Byrne that depicts a timeline created by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from assassinating a U.S. senator. In that alternate future, the giant robotic Sentinels have become the de facto rulers of the United States, where mutants are hunted down and placed in internment camps.

are i the only one who wants to know why cyclops isnt in this movie? I trust bryan singer but how many mutants are needed in this movie? You get bishop and warpath but no cyclops?

Well, in the history of “Days Of Future Past”, Cyclops in the PRESENT has abandoned the X-Men for a reason that is not explained (or that i can’t remember). In the future, he is dead. The main protagonists of the future are Storm, Rachel Summers, Kitty Pride, Colossus, Magneto, Franklin Richards and Wolverine. In fact, there’re a lot o mutants in this movie that doesn’t appear in the history.

He left the X-Men in #138 due to Jean Grey’s death. He felt the need to find a life outside the X-Men. It was the start of my addiction to the title as it was a great recap of the previous 137 issues.
