First Look at Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days of Future Past

BJYA9TgCEAEudKiBryan Singer has been the man responsible for giving away the biggest reveals about X-Men: Days of Future Past. He showed us photos of Wolverine, Iceman, Professor X and Magneto. He promised that Bishop, Warpath and Storm will be in the new movie. And now he’s given us our first look at Kitty Pryde.

Ellen Page had a relatively small party as Kitty in X-Men: The Last Stand, but her career took off in the years afterwards thanks to roles in movies like Juno, Inception and Super. That’s likely why the news that she will reprise her role as Kitty was met with such excitement early on in The Last Stand‘s development process.

The picture Singer posted to his Twitter account doesn’t reveal many spoilers, but it does show Kitty’s new sense of style. Also, it sure looks like she’s staring up at Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman in this shot. “Hello, Kitty @EllenPage #XMen #DaysofFuturePast,” Singer tweets.

Opening July 18, 2014, Days of Future Past takes its name from the classic 1981 Marvel comics story by Chris Claremont and John Byrne that depicts a timeline created by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from assassinating a U.S. senator. In that alternate future, the giant robotic Sentinels have become the de facto rulers of the United States, where mutants are hunted down and placed in internment camps. Kitty Pryde plays a major part in revealing the terrible dystopian future to the young mutants, and presumably she’ll do the same in this movie.

The film also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Daniel Cudmore, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing and Adan Canto.

I just don’t have a good feeling about this movie. Singer is showing to much and with the amount of people in it, it just feels like an X3 all over again.

have faith, x1 brought the comicbook genre to the masses (even tho blade really open the door) and x2 is still thought of as one of the best hero movies. SR was a misstep but hes a great filmmaker that aside.

The saddest thing about Superman Returns is that we’ll probably never get to see Kevin Spacey play Lex Luthor again (considering both he and the studios probably want to distance themselves from the movie as much as possible), say what you will about the rest of the movie but that was perfect casting right there.

  • Harry Demetrious

He’s not giving away any dialogue between Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackson just before they disagree with eachother.

  • Harry Demetrious

I should say Hugh Jackman, tha ninja-repellant.

  • Karolina Jones

I’m going to be slightly ill if any actual time travel is involved. Like, awesome storyline just…please, no time travel?

  • Atomic Kommie Comics

The Days of Future Past storyline in the comic was a time-travel story.
This is an adaptation of that storyline, so, yes, there will be time travel…

The only way I see the size of this cast working well is if most of the actors from the first trilogy are getting killed off in an opening sequence where they send Kitty back in time. If there’s a lot of shared screen time there’s just too many actors for this to work well. X3 all over again

So, this is like those episodes of Wolverine and The X-Men, when Prof. X was in the future because he woke up from his coma during that time.

  • Layla

That’s Iceman right.? Damn seems like the “love” relation between this two seems to recover again.
