NYCC PREVIEW: DC Debuts Miller, Janson & Kubert's "Dark Knight III" Interior Art
Having already mastered how to surf the big waves and bend spoons with his mind, Keanu Reeves has moved into an all new experience: directing. His first film, Man of Tai Chi, follows Tiger Hu Chen’s character as he enteres a competition run by Reeves’. As you can see in the new international trailer above, part of the villain’s motivation comes from the idea of seeing a practitioner of a fairly peaceful branch of martial arts corrupted and pushed to kill.
The film’s action pedigree is pretty high. Reeves has had his fair share of butt kicking experience, some of which was aided by Chen, in fact. Chen did stunt work on the second and third Matrix films as well as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The film also features Iko Uwais (The Raid), Karen Mok (Black Mask, Shaolin Soccer) and Simon Yam (Ip Man). Man of Tai Chi, which video game and short writer Michael G. Cooney penned, does not yet have a set release date.
