Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Last night, Conan viewers thought they were going to get a sneak peek at Adam McKay’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, courtesy of star Paul Rudd, but the actor pulled a fast one on the audience and host Conan O’Brien by instead showing a clip from the ’80s E.T. copycat Mac & Me. As you can see above, though, we didn’t have to wait too long to get a look at the actual trailer.
The film follows the Channel 4 news team — consisting of Rudd’s Brian Fantana, Steve Carrell’s Brick Tamland, David Koechner’s Champ Kind and, of course, Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy — as they leave San Diego to help start a CNN-like network in 1980s New York City.
The trailer also shows off appearances by Christina Applegate, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Ed Helms and others but will feature a plethora of other cameos and appearances from some of the biggest names in show business. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens Dec. 20.
