Marvel Studios, Feige No Longer Under Perlmutter's Purview
Comic Books, Film
Although it will be at least two more years before Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman team up for Warner Bros.’ long-planned Justice League, the first trailer for the studio’s animated The LEGO Movie brings the three superheroes together … along with Ninja Turtle Michelangelo, the 2002 NBA All-Stars, a 1980-something space-guy and a host of others.
But while seeing all of those characters is fun, they’re only cameos. The star is Emmet, voiced by Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, an ordinary minifigure who’s mistaken for the MasterBuilder and drafted into a fellowship on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together.
The LEGO Movie also features the voice talents of Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman and Elizabeth Banks.
Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), the film opens Feb. 7, 2014.
