"Game of Thrones": 10 Questions for Season 7
Universal Pictures has released a new U.K. trailer for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End to promote Vue cinemas’ upcoming screening of the “Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy” (aka the “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy”). That is, 2004’s Shaun of the Dead, 2007’s Hot Fuzz and now The World’s End, all written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost.
Following about 30 seconds from the first two films, the trailer plows headlong into scenes from the final installment, including plenty of new footage that would seem to much of the story — gags, action sequences, surprises and all. Here’s the official synopsis:
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
The World’s End, which also stars Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike, opens July 19 in the United Kingdom and Aug. 23 in the United States.
