Neeson to Utilize a Very Particular Set of Skills (Again) in Taken 3

Liam Neeson’s Bryan Mills has proved to be exactly what he claimed in the first film: “a nightmare to people like you” (i.e. bad guys). Neeson surprised many in 2008 with Taken, about a father who does everything he can to get his daughter back. He returned to the character in Taken 2 last year. The pair of films have earned $602 million combined, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when a third was announced in October.

Deadline reports that Neeson is very close to signing a deal with Fox to reprise his role in Taken 3. Although Neeson was “a reluctant participant” in the sequel, he was enticed with a $15 million payday. He’s said to be earning for $20 million this time around.

When the third film was announced last year, co-screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen noted that between Miller’s daughter, played by Maggie Grace, and his wife, Famke Jensen, the family angle has been exhausted. “We’ve taken everyone we can take,” he said. “It’s going to go in another direction.”

Kamen started working on the script with producer and co-writer Luc Besson when they saw good numbers for Taken 2. No director has been attached, although word is that Taken 2 helmer Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3, Columbiana) could return.

What if… Liam Neeson, the lead cast got “Taken”? How will he escape and kill everyone who held him captive?
