Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Digital Spy has debuted “The Wolverine: A Ronin’s Story,” a behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming Fox sequel that, refreshingly, focuses on story and character rather than on the work that went into achieving specific effects or how wonderful it was to be on the set with certain actors.
“You see Wolverine more vulnerable, more at risk, and more of a monster than you’ve ever seen him before,” star Hugh Jackman teases.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
Directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine also stars Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper, Will Yun Lee as Silver Samurai, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen Yashida, Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida, Tao Okamoto as Mariko Yashida, Rila Fukushima as Yukio and Brian Tee as Noburo Mori. The film opens July 26.
