"U.S.Avengers": A Guide to Marvel's New Patriotic Superhero Team
While it doesn’t come as much of a surprise, Christian Bale has once and for all shot down persistent rumors that he may don the Batman costume again and reunite with Christopher Nolan for Warner Bros.’ long-planned Justice League movie.
“We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three,” Bale, who first wore the mask in 2005’s Batman Begins, tells Entertainment Weekly. “That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy. Chris always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying ‘We’re about to make the third.’ We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well.”
Bale said Warner Bros. hasn’t even contacted him about Justice League, but he’s perfectly fine with that. “I have no information, no knowledge about anything,” he said. “I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it. It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.”
Warner Bros. and screenwriter David Goyer have said they’re going in a new direction for the character in Justice League, which is being written now.
