Guillermo del Toro has found his Master. The Pacific Rim filmmaker is looking no further than his latest big-budget epic to cast the actor to play the villain in The Strain, the FX adaptation of his vampire novel series.
Robert Maillet, who stars in PacRim as Russian Jaeger jockey Lieutenant Kaidanovsky, has been tapped to play The Master in the drama pilot. He’s a world-conquering vampire who comes to New York City on “a plane from Europe and begins a strategic and systematic takeover of the world,” according to Deadline.
Maillet joins a fantastic cast that Corey Stoll, John Hurt, Mia Maestro and Sean Astin. Lost and Bates Motel mastermind Carlton Cuse is developing the pilot with del Toro and his co-author Chuck Hogan.
