Ewing and Rocafort's "Ultimates" Stand Guard Against Alien Empires & Cosmic Entities
Anna Torv is returning to television, but her comeback is a far cry from her days in Fringe Division.
The Fringe star is diving back into the small screen with a lead role on Ryan Murphy’s new HBO series about sexuality, titled Open. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Open is “a multi-character exploration of the complex, ever-evolving landscape of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships.” Torv joins the cast alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh, Scott Speedman and Wes Bentley.
Torv stars as a yoga instructor named Windsor, who is in a long-term relationship with deeply dedicated actress Holly (Leigh). Windsor’s relationship with Holly is questioned by the arrival of Grace, a gynecologist who is confused about her own sexuality. Grace, currently uncast, is married to a sports agent named Jonathan, played by Speedman. Bentley stars as Evan, “a handsome blowhard who loves espousing his theories on human sexuality.”
HBO ordered Open to pilot in April, and has made no decision about moving forward with a fuller series order.
