Matt & Foggy Hit The Street In First "Daredevil" Season 2 Set Pics
Following the resurgence of Arrested Development as an on-demand series on Netflix, discussion reignited among fans as to whether an Arrested Development movie was possible. Although no concrete plans have been announced to (once again) extend the life of the cult television show, creator Mitch Hurwitz tells Rolling Stone he has already begun work on the film.
“I’m working on the movie right now,” he said. “I can’t get into much more detail because I don’t want to scare anybody off. I don’t want to be presumptuous about it. I don’t own the property outright — it’s a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie.”
Hurwitz is hopeful the film will get a green light, especially given that the hardest part of bringing the series back for the recent fourth season was working around the schedules of his cast. However, while he’s willing to admit he’s working on the film, he doesn’t want to say much more about it.
“I’m hoping it happens as soon as possible,” he says. “But I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it’s happening and not play with people. Right now, I’m trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I’m always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It’s the best way to guarantee it doesn’t happen.”
Rolling Stone further notes that Hurwitz’s “ultimate goal” is to extend the series into film, then come back and do a fifth season of the show.
