Axel-In-Charge: New X-Men Editorial Era, Garth Ennis' Marvel Return
Ronald D. Moore and Starz continue to fill out Clan McKenzie in their adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books, adding Gary Lewis and Graham McTavish to the cast.
Outlander follows the adventures of a World War II nurse named Claire who finds herself transported back to 1700s Scotland, where she is married off to a warrior named Jamie McKenzie, a member of the area’s ruling family. It was announced in July that Jamie will be played by Sam Heughan.
Lewis (Eragon, Gangs of New York), above, will play Colum MacKenzie, the leader of Clan McKenzie who suffers from a condition that makes him occasionally lose control of his legs. Colum relies on his brother Dougal, who will be played by Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, 24) to act as his enforcer. A true warrior, Dougal supports the rebel cause against the British on the sly.
The 16-episode first season of Outlander begins filming in Scotland this year with an eye toward a 2014 debut on Starz.
