They’re Here: ‘Poltergeist’ Adds Two More
MGM and Gil Kenan have added to their haunted family for the Poltergeist remake. Touch actress Saxon Sharbino has signed on to play Kendra, the oldest daughter of the Bowen clan.
Sharbino is the last of the five Bowen family members to be cast. Guy Pearce and Rosemarie DeWitt play the parents of Kendra, younger brother Griffin (Kyle Catlett) and ghost-napped sister Madison (Kennedi Clements).
THR more fully described Kendra like so:
Sharbino’s Kendra is a typical teen, isolating herself from her family to focus on her friendships. But when she realizes that her new home feeds on the isolation of others, she must band together with her family to help save her youngest sibling.
THR also announced that Hung actress Jane Adams will appear in the film as well. She will play a parapsychologist brought in to help find the youngest Bowen girl. Whether her character works with Jarred Harris’ TV ghost hunter Carrigan or not remains to be seen, but it sounds like they might have similar goals.
Poltergeist is set to debut sometime in 2014.
