Axel-In-Charge: Navigating the "Civil War II" Landscape, Bringing DMC to Marvel
“Clear eyes, full hearts — can we do it again?”
That’s the question on Kyle Chandler’s mind, when it comes to the rumored Friday Night Lights movie. Chandler’s co-star and on-screen wife Connie Britton appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and gave her take on why the planned big-screen continuation of the beloved football series hasn’t hit the field just yet.
“There’s been a lot of talk about a lot of things,” she said. “And some people are really excited about it, and other people aren’t. I love the idea. I think it would be a great idea. But my former husband, Coach Eric Taylor …”
Host Andy Cohen finished her sentence: “He thinks you did it already.”
“Well, and he has a point,” continued Britton. “And we would only do it if it was going to be a great movie. That’s the thing.”
Chandler does have a point: Friday Night Lights ended flawlessly. Why revisit the dog days of Dillon when the story already has so much closure? You don’t need another movie to revisit the Taylors, Riggins and the rest — that’s what Netflix is for.
