The scarred, Na’vi-menacing Colonel Miles Quaritch is coming back for another shot at Pandora.
Director James Cameron has revealed Stephen Lang will return for the next three Avatar films, reportedly beginning production late next year. Deadline describes the resurrected Quaritch as “the closest thing to a mix between Star Wars‘ Darth Vader and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator character.”
“I’m not going to say exactly how we’re bringing him back, but it’s a science fiction story, after all,” the director told Deadline. “His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who’s also become a good friend.”
Avatar 2 is scheduled for release in 2016.
