Why The Russos Are The Best Thing to Happen to the MCU Since Joss Whedon
Fox is putting its promotional muscle behind Almost Human, the sci-fi police drama from former Fringe showrunner J.H. Wyman. After moving the series premiere to Sunday, Nov. 17 to take advantage of an NFL lead-in and trotting out an extended trailer with new footage, the network has released the show’s first seven minutes to give viewers an idea of what they can expect.
The series is set in 2048, when police officers are teamed up with advanced humanoid robots. Karl Urban stars as police detective John Kennex, the sole survivor of a devastating ambush that left him with a synthetic leg, and Michaely Ealy as his robot partner Dorian. The series also stars Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor and Mackenzie Crook.
In other Almost Human news, The Hollywood Reporter has word that John Larroquette of Night Court and Boston Legal fame has joined the cast. He’ll play Nigel, a broken genius roboticist.
