‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Plants ‘Seeds’ in New Promos

Following the midseason return last night of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., ABC released a teaser and photos for next week’s episode, titled “”Seeds.” Here’s the description:

Coulson and May uncover startling information about Skye’s past, while the team is swept into a storm at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

So I just want to throw this out there, but the reveal about what happened to Coulson (without being spoilery): I’d give it a 3.5. What SHIELD did to him is pretty darn creepy, but it’s not evil, dastardly or horribly manipulative. And if you think about it, it’s kinda sweet that Fury loves his bro that much.

What they did to him had a Frankenstein-ish vibe too it. And no doubt they’ll be nasty side effects to what they did to preserve his body.

Unless there was some other motive. What I wanted to know was ‘how’ they did it. That’s a pretty big thing. Is it something they can do again for someone else or did it only work once? It was obviously very difficult to achieve.

    coulson repeated line……”Let me die!!!”

I want real super villains. What about the Marvel Mob, at least? SIlvermane, Tombstone, etc.?

Seems like they’re saving HYDRA for Captain America so we’re stuck with AIM. I’m guessing the Clairvoyant is MODOK.

  • Matt King

that would take the show from the sky into the stratosphere! I’d love that!

  • lewis4510

There’s way to make MODOK work without making him look silly, like he does in animation. If they go with something like what they did with Hector Hammond in Green Lantern. Have him confined to a high tech wheel chair with a support frame.

Hydra was used in CA:TFA and AIM was used (wasted …) in IM3. Centipede (which has no comic equivalent) is the big bad on the show right now.

  • DarthTigris

Exactly. It bothered me a ton because the way Coulson kept begging for death and the tone of his voice … yeah, that stuck with me way longer than I expected.

The big question now though is WHY is Coulson so important that they had to go this far?

And was I the only one to catch the brief moment where it looked like he was getting transported to Asgard?

  • twincast

Yeah, no cloning, no cyborgification, not even Asgardian shenanigans, just some good old medical super science that hurt more than Coulson was willing to bear and was thus ethically questionable at best but was otherwise rather pedestrian. I honestly feel rather let down after all that built up mystery.
