‘The Strain’ Turns Off the Lights in New Teaser

What happens when the lights go out in New York City? In the case of the upcoming FX drama The Strain, it means a terrible plague is about to be unleashed, as you can see in the new promo spot below.

Based on the vampire novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the thriller follows Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll, shown in the photo below with Mia Maestro), head of the Centers for Disease Control’s Canary Team in New York City, as he’s called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak “with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism.” As the strain spreads, Eph, his team and everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity.

Executive produced by del Toro and Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel), who serves as showrunner, the series also stars Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, David Bradley, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland and Miguel Gomez. The Strain premieres in July on FX.

looks interesting though the wait to see del torro magic on a tv show is going to be a long one since this thing does not hit till summer.

Well I’ll be missing this just like season three of AHS: Coven, as FX is becoming renowned for being extremely crappy and stingy with online streamed content and I only watch programs online. Get with the times FX, more people are watching shows online now than on TV cable subscriptions.
