Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Jason Statham’s Frank Martin is no longer behind the wheel of the Transporter franchise.
Instead, The Hollywood Reporter reveals, the upcoming fourth Transporter film will tell Martin’s origin, without Statham in the role. It’s a new beginning for the franchise, as Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp hopes to make a fifth and sixth Transporter film if the Statham-free reboot performs as expected.
It’s not the first time the Transporter story has been told without Statham. EuropaCorp has also spun the franchise off on television, with actor Chris Vance in the title role. There’s no word on whether Vance will be involved in the rebooted film series.
