Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Warner Bros. is moving forward with director David Yates’ 3D live-action adaptation of Tarzan, setting a July 1, 2016 release date.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project, which was put on hold in April because of budget concerns, is now back on track, with Alexander Skarsgard, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie and Christoph Waltz signed to starring roles. Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) will play Jane, a part previously circled by Jessica Chastain.
“Tarzan has been an enduring and enigmatic figure in literature and cinema for more than a century,” Warner Bros.’ Sue Kroll said in a statement. “The adventures of a man who was torn between two worlds has entertained and intrigued people young and old, and we are excited to bring him to the screen for a new generation.”
