Syfy Announces Intergalactic Bounty Hunter Series ‘Killjoys’

syfy Syfy caused a stir on Wednesday when it announced a quartet of new projects based on comic books: Ronin, Clone, Pax Romana and Letter 44. However, the cable channel also has in the works an original space-based series called Killjoys. Here’s the description:

Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multiplanetary class war.

“With its explosive action, smartly-drawn characters, and fun and provocative story-lines, Killjoys has all the ingredients to make it the perfect complement to our expanding slate of quality science fiction drama series,” Syfy President Dave Howe said in a statement.

The series was created by Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl) and will be produced by Temple Street Productions (Orphan Black). The 10-episode first season will debut sometime in 2015.

The description sounds very similar to Cowboy Bebop. But given this is the same creator of Lost Girl I’m not that enthusiastic.
