Marc Webb Stalking Kraven For ‘Spider-Man’ Villain?

Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is swinging through theaters now, but he’s already looking ahead to the next chapter in Peter Parker’s story.

When asked by about which villains he’d like to bring to the screen, the filmmaker replied, “I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always thought the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting.”

Whether Webb will deal with the villainous big-game hunter in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or if the character will join in on the fun in Drew Goddard’s Sinister Six remains to be seen.

However, we do know that the character was teased in the Shazam-enabled bonus sequence accessible while watching the end credits The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Still, word is that Goddard hasn’t finished his Sinister Six script, and the actual lineup hasn’t been nailed down.

  • E. Wilson

    Four words: Jason mutha-bumpin’ Momoa.

  • Kevin Brettauer

    No. No way.

  • Jay

I think Kraven would be great. All they need to do is find out how to translate his costume on screen.

  • Brian White

    Cliche casting

  • Brian White

I don’t know what to hope for. The box office is going to be a false positive that the movie was good. The casting is the best part and the origin is now set so I hope they can figure out how to pace the story better than ASM2 did.

Sharlto Copley, he was great in Distric 9 and his character is Elysium is perfect, let alone the South African accent. I think Kraven is the best villain for 3; no real back story needed other than he’s a bad-ass hunter. Personally, I think 3 should also introduce the symbiote costume but not venom until the very end to get people hyped for the Venom franchise, no need to rush and butcher it like the original trilogy. They should even go as far as to make the first movie a Venom 1/Spider-man 4, then explore Venom’s anti-hero side in Venom 2 & 3.

Kraven’s Last Hunt. I bet the little kids would love to see Spider-man being buried alive. :)

“They said my mother was insane” The kids would just love that. :)

  • Conrad Gonzales

I think Kraven would be great for the next sequel. Since, he’s been seen in the Comics & Cartoons. But, hasn’t been seen in any movies. This should be interesting.

ASM2 was 1000x better than the first

The beauty of Spider-Man is that there are so many great villains (Like Batman and Flash). As a fan, Electro was my #1 choice for ASM2. Vulture, Kraven, & Mysterio would all be great choices. Personally i’m scared to see what they would do to the Scorpion after that abomination they called the Rhino.

  • Dragan

I’ll volunteer to play him. I’m hairy, muscle-y, and Slavic.

  • Kevin Brettauer

    Also “bad”.

  • Jason M Bryant

He already turned down Guardians of the Galaxy. Maybe this would be a character he would find more interesting to play. I’m not sure.

  • Jason M Bryant

Since his outfit isn’t form fitting, it would actually be one of the easiest to translate. It’s really just slacks and a fancy jacket. Other than the mane around the shoulders, I’ve seen guys wearing pretty similar stuff.

  • Jason M Bryant

Agreed. I was very pleasantly surprised by ASM2. As far as pacing goes, there was a lot going on, but I never felt like we didn’t see a character for so long that i forgot about him. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Javier Bardem FTW! He should’ve played Bane but nabbing Kraven can make up for it.

  • demoncat_4

who says Kraven can’t appear in both the next spiderman film then spin off to sinister six. and even though Jason Momoa seems to not want to play in the marvel film verse by turning down guardians. hope he at leasts if approached talks to marvel of maybe playing kraven. we shall see. when spidey is going to cross paths with kraven on the big screen.

  • Brian White

That arc needs build up, not Kraven’s intro

  • J.p. Ducey

I don’t get why everyone is complaining about “the pacing” of ASM2. What did I miss? The movie never got too slow or too fast. There were breaks between action scenes but it never got boring either. I feel like all the characters got a good amount of screen time and everything progressed naturally.

I have other complaints about the movie, like the designs of The Goblin and Rhino. I also didnt like how they just used Norman Osborn as a prop to propel Harry. The positives still outweigned any negatives in my mind.

  • Kaizokuman

Nope I got him for Vandal Savage.

  • SlamAdams

    Kraven’s Russian
