TNT Orders ‘Public Morals’ and ‘Proof”

TNT has greenlit two new series: the 1960s-set police drama Public Morals and the supernatural drama Proof.

Created by and starring Edward Burns, Public Morals shines a light on New York City’s Public Morals Division officer Terry Muldoon (Burns), who’s trying to balance the darkness of his job with his attempts to raise good young men along with his wife (Elizabeth Masucci).

The cast also includes Michael Rappaport plays the squad’s heavy Charlie Bullman, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as Lt. King, Wass M. Stevens as Vince Latucci, Keith Nobbs as Pat Duffy, Austin Stowell as Sean O’Bannon, Patrick Murney as Petey “Mac” McKenna, Katrina Bowden as Fortune, Lyndon Smith as Deirdre and Brian Wiles as Jimmy Shea. Timothy Hutton and Rob Knepper guest star in the pilot.

The 10-episode first season will premiere in 2015.

Executive produced by Kyra Sedgwick, Proof stars Jennifer Beals as Dr. Carolyn Tyler, an accomplished surgeon with a rough personal life hired by a millionaire with cancer (Matthew Modine) to go around the world in search of evidence of the afterlife.

The series also stars Joe Morton, Callum Blue, Edi Gathegi, Annie Thurman, Sean Gleeson and newcomer Caroline Rose Kaplan.

Like Public Morals, Proof‘s 10-episode first season will premiere next year.
