LEGO-Inspired ‘Ninjago’ Will Arrive in 2016

Everything ninja-related will be awesome in fall 2016.

That’s when the next big-screen LEGO adventure, the animated action flick Ninjago, is set to arrive. Deadline reports Warner Bros. has set a Sept. 23, 2016 release date for the film, which will be directed by Tron: Uprising veteran Charlie Bean.

“Following the huge success of The LEGO Movie, we are very excited to build on the LEGO franchise,” said Warner Bros. distribution executive Dan Fellman. “We know there are already Ninjago collectors who can’t wait to see their favorite characters on the big screen. This promises to be a terrifically fun and thrilling entry into our Fall 2016 slate, with broad audience appeal.”

They do realize there is an ongoing Ninjago TV series that has been going for two seasons?

Yes, they certainly do, considering the writers for the new movie are Dan & Kevin Hageman, the same two people who have been writing the LEGO Ninjago TV series since it began. That’s a big part of why I have high hopes for this movie.
