‘Batman v Superman’ Rumors: Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor and an SDCC Reveal

Next to Star Wars: Episode VII, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice might be the most intriguing big-budget sequel in the works right now. Sure, we know it features DC Comics’ two most iconic characters, but the details are few and far between. What’s Lex Luthor’s game? How does the Justice League play into the story? And what’s the deal with Gal Godot’s Wonder Woman?

JoBlo touches upon some of those questions in a new piece attributed, at least in part, to “a trusted and proven source.” In other words, these details fall under a blinking “rumor” sign.

The site’s source contends that Wonder Woman’s costume will be closer to the character’s classic look, with descriptions like “traditional, yet sleeker” and “battle ready.” JoBlo explains: “She’ll have a blue leather skirt, silver-armored cuffs that reach to her elbows, golden tiara (with a design of some sort in the center, possibly the red star) and a variation of the traditional-looking red top (no word on additional armor on it).” Princess Diana will also sport her Lasso of Truth, as well as a spear, sword and shield. More importantly, Diana reportedly will be introduced early in the film as a normal person before showing up as Wonder Woman for the final battle.

The animosity between Superman and the film’s primary villain is said to reflect the duo’s longtime feud, with Lex Luthor considering himself the best humanity has to offer and unable to stand the idea that this alien is better than him.

JoBlo also notes that Bruce Wayne will be hanging out on the idyllic Wayne property, though not in the mansion. Instead, the veteran vigilante lives in a cabin by a lake that sits atop an update version of the Batcave housing the Batwing, Batmobile and much more.

Meanwhile, Latino Review’s Umberto “El Mayimbe” Gonzalez tweeted a rumor that Warner Bros. will reveal footage footage from Batman v Superman next month at Comic-Con International. Not much of a surprise there, considering it’s the studio’s biggest project for the comics-loving audience.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. It opens May 6, 2016.

nice to know that wonder woman’s will keep her look at least even if the outfit also is battle armour. for they can always tweak it for a wonder woman solo film and the jl film. for i am now wanting to see superman vs batman dawn of justice more and more. wonder if lex is the main baddie.

  • samuel

if its true what they are saying about Wonder woman (and i hope it is) i will be all needing the action figure. however no Steve Trevor?

  • goshi

much much better than avengers 2 spoilers. let’s hope gal gadot will not be pregnant during filming.

  • PietroMaximoff

    hope it flops!!

  • M. Walsh

Why does Wonder Woman need a shield? Is that not what the bracelets are for?

  • Carl Mastromarino

A shield will be able to protect her HEAD FROM SPLATTERING when hundreds of bullets are shot at her simultaneously.

  • M. Walsh

Yes, we wouldn’t want Wonder Woman to seem like someone capable of superhuman feats like being fast enough to deflect bullets with her magic, unbreakable bracelets.

I mean, it’s not like she’s a superhero with superpowers or anything.

Someone please tell me this is a joke

I think the gentleman who wrote this article should go and get out more. He calls Superman vs Batman ‘one of the most intriguing big budget sequels in the works right now.
Maybe inside the tiny world of comic collectors, this is exciting but the rest of the world couldn’t care less. WB is smothering people with press about this flick, almost the way someone would force feed castor oil to a bad child because they want the rest of the world to care as much as WB does.
What the WB and comic book people don’t ‘get’ is that they did this with that godawful Green Lantern movie, spent over 350 million dollars on making and advertising that turd and it stunk like a rotten egg.
WB/Comic People: You all can get your freak on about this movie that sounds like a bad, Saturday morning cartoon but there are much more important things going on in the world, and much better movies coming out than Superman vs Ben Affleck.
    Jeeeeeez!

  • Beth Johnson

Yet you were intrigued enough to read the story and make a long post about it.

  • Wes Evans

It’s always funny when the longest, most elaborate comment in a thread is one saying how every else is dumb for spending time on the topic.

  • neodymium

I believe I will get my freak on about this movie, and I’ll enjoy every damn moment of it.

Keep out of it party stinker.

  • hisstoryman

WW has used a sword & shield many times over the years.

  • M. Walsh

    True…and it’s really annoying.
I could tolerate her using a sword from time to time (although I’m personally getting sick of seeing that so much, too), but she should never need a shield. Again: that’s what the bracelets are for.

  • Darnie Kris Glover

Ever hear of buckshot? How about Shrapnel? How about fire? Warrior would have to be pretty stupid to throw out all options because “that’s what X is for.”

  • M. Walsh

Okay. And I guess Superman should start carrying a laser-gun around with him, and Wolverine a switchblade. I mean, I know Supes has heat vision and Logan has claws, but it’d be pretty stupid to emphasize the characters for their trademark abilities.

  • Darnie Kris Glover

Why does Superman need heat vision? He’s got superstrength. Why does Wolverine need claws? He heals really fast.

  • todd

Are you serious? If the rest of the world couldn’t care less about this movie than why has the casting of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Luthor gotten so much attention? If you are going troll you could at least try harder.

  • DylanNYC

Must be pretty lonely and dull in your part of the “world” because everyone I know is looking forward to seeing this movie and we’re not even comic book collectors. Imagine that, people looking forward to a movie just for the fun of it. Get your head out of your pretentious arse and enjoy life, it won’t kill you.

  • SeaDogMillionaire

Bruce Wayne living in a cabin over the batcave ??? I dislike Zack Snyder more and more with each passing day.

  • penguintruth

But you only got half the info. He’s living next to Dexter Morgan, his mysterious on staff lumberjack.

  • todd

I think Snyder wants to save Wayne Manor for a Batman solo movie and not a team up.

  • Dre Day

So NO star-spangled thong for Wonder Woman? What…..a shocker. I expect the DC Trinity to battle Doomsday at the end of film.

  • SPIKKAA

I was thinking more towards the words “retarded” and hypocritical for myspace toms whiney rant…..but you cant read an article without having at least 1 troll…i bet he even believes that what he said actually made a point to someone other than himself!

  • ijustgottasay

There was a Batcave under Arkham Asylum. He has Batcaves in multiple locations, not just under Wayne Manor. Batman is always prepared, so it makes sense for him to have multiple Batcaves. It isn’t that big of a deal.
