"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Trailer Officially Released
Disney and Lucasfilm announced the addition of two new cast members to “Star Wars Episode VII,” which is currently filming in London. Following an open casting call last year, relative newcomers Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have been cast in two as-yet-unrevealed roles.
According to the site, Clarke is an American actress studying in Glasgow, UK, who will appear in her first feature, The Moon and the Sun, next year. Andersen, meanwhile, is a British actor and parkour expert, as he proved in this co-branded ad for Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man and Xperia smartphone.
“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent, and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement.
The studio also announced that filming will take a two-week hiatus as actor Harrison Ford recovers from the leg injury he suffered in June. They expect that shooting will wrap as planned this fall.
“Star Wars Episode VII” also stars franchise veterans Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker, as well as newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie. It is scheduled for release on Dec. 18, 2015.
