Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will feature a mixture of adaptation and new, Miller-penned stories exclusive to the big screen. You can see some of the latter with this latest clip of Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan not only chopping off her hair, but also cutting her face. Bruce Willis’ Hartigan and Mickey Rourke’s Marv also play into the scene.
Miller’s hardboiled crime comics take place in the wildly corrupt town of Basin City, where most of the cops are dirty, the working girls take care of their own and the good guys don’t always seem so great.
This sequel to Miller and Rodriguez’s 2005 Sin City, finds actors like Alba, Rourke, Willis, Jaime King and Rosario Dawson returning along with franchise newbies Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jamie Chung.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens Aug. 22.
