Guardians of the Galaxy might be the talk of the town now, but Marvel had another hit earlier this year with the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The film arrives Sept. 9 on Blu-ray and DVD, packed with special features, including these two deleted scenes posted released in advance by Marvel. The first features Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill, while the second stars Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Emily VanCamp as Agent 13, and focuses on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s attempt to apprehend Steve Rogers.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier also stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo and Samuel L. Jackson.

I still can’t find the Blu Ray or DVD for this movie up for pre-order anywhere. Normally movies are up pretty quick but not TWS.

  • Mr November

I can on Amazon. but pre-ordering for these kind of films is pointless. On the day of release every store or supermaket that sells films will have hundreds

  • Peter Parker

All that is available on Amazon (as of 2 minutes ago) only has the streaming version for pre-order.

  • Colorgreen

Usually I get the best discount from Amazon and I get release day shipping so not pointless but I can’t find anything but the digital copy on Amazon. Best buy has them and the Marvel store itself only has the DVD. All very bizarre.

Try Walmart.com. I ordered mine yesterday.

I actually like both scenes, and wouldn’t have minded if they were kept in the movie. The first one foreshadows the scene where Cap inspires the SHIELD agents, and the second is symbolic of hkm leaving SHIELD. Plus, they were pretty short.

  • Jinx 01

The scene where he inspires the Shield agents was really gutted by the fact that everyone who tried to help him got slaughtered. Would have been nice if they’d actually been able to accomplish something.

That all left a bad taste in my mouth, but the last ep of AoS made me feel a little better about Shield in general.

Bad pacing though. The gym scene is pretty pointless. You get the same information in the movie cut.

True, but they probably cut fifteen extra one minute scenes out of the movie, and thirty ten second cuts, and a hundred three second blips.

  • Will of the Nerds

I know that, but like I said, it’s a nice little symbolic scene.

Of course, that’s how the editing process works. But I was talking about just these scenes.
