Marvel Easter Egg Already Spotted on ‘Ant-Man’ Set

Fair warning: Although there image doesn’t appear to be a spoiler for Ant-Man, if you’d prefer to be safe than sorry, you may want to skip this post.

Director Peyton Reed began principal photography on Ant-Man just a week ago, and already people are spotting Marvel Universe Easter eggs on the film’s San Francisco set.

Among the latest batch of set photos to pop up at Superhero Hype and elsewhere, one eagle-eyed fan zeroed in on a shot of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang walking past weathered ads for the DayGlo-green Pingo Doce soda seen during Stan Lee’s cameo in The Incredible Hulk (below).

It’s doubtful that the soda plays any role in the film, beyond providing a little background flourish to help establish Ant-Man as part of the same universe as that neglected 2008 movie. Hey, some of us liked The Incredible Hulk; maybe Reed did too.

Arriving July 17, 2015, Ant-Man also stars Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Bobby Canavale, Michael Pena, Abby Ryder Fortson, David Dastmalchian, Gregg Turkington and T.I..

Can’t wait for Mark Ruffalo’s cameo!

Well, I know that for me, Ed Norton will always be one of the best performers for Bruce Banner. The only other actor so far that really did a good job as Banner IMHO was Bill Bixby. I honestly don’t know why “The Incredible Hulk” has been shunned so much.

I have to admit: That scene always bugged me. We saw Stan Lee take a sip of that soda, drop it, and, somehow, that in itself was supposed to tell us it had the Hulk’s irradiated blood in it. Did he turn into a Hulk-like creature in a deleted scene or something?
Also, too bad we got to see the origin of the Leader, but so far have not seen the Leader.

He drank the soda and got gamma sickness. The scene starts off with a report to Ross about the man getting sick. Then they cut to Stan Lee. They found gamma in the bottle and traced it back to Brazil that’s how Ross found banner in Brazil.

thats pretty cool.. Actually, if you buy the Phase 1 Box Set, one of the files included for The Hulk included a Bottle sticker for the drink..

He could now be in a base that Hydra controls. Would be a good way to bring him and Abomination back into the MCU – even if it’s just in Agents of SHIELD.
