Disney has unveiled a first look at two new characters from Pixar’s “Finding Dory,” the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s hit “Finding Nemo.”
Released by Entertainment Weekly, the image features Bailey, the beluga whale voiced by Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”), and Destiny, the whale shark played by Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”).
“My character isn’t great at his own sonar capability, and Destiny has trouble swimming straight,” Burrell explains of the seemingly unlikely duo, who play a key role in reuniting Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) with her loved ones.
Written and co-directed by “Finding Nemo’s” Andrew Stanton, “Finding Dory” is set six months after the events of the 2003 original, as the amnesiac Dory suddenly recalls memories of her childhood and sets off with Nemo and Marlin to find her family.
Opening June 27, “Finding Dory” also stars Albert Brooks, Hayden Rolence, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ed O’Neill and Willem Dafoe.
