"Justice League": Exploring How Superman Returns (Again)

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” finished Wednesday with $1.29 billion worldwide, slipping past “Frozen’s” $1.28 billion to become the eighth-highest grossing film of all time.
The J.J. Abrams sequel earned an additional $28.1 million in the North American box office, bringing its total there to $629 million in just 13 days of release. That’s enough to unseat Marvel’s “The Avengers” ($623.4 million) at No. 4 on the all-time domestic chart and becoming Disney’s top-grossing film ever (not accounting for inflation).
“The Force Awakens” ranked in another $36.7 million overseas, pushing its international tally to $664.1 million.
Variety reports the film remains on track to exceed $2 billion worldwide, and challenge “Avatar’s” all-time box office crown.
